LIV Golf’s Sergio Garcia (Spain) has qualified for the third major of the season, the US Open, in dramatic fashion.
Garcia tied for fourth place in the final U.S. Open Regional Qualifier, a 36-hole stroke play event held at Northwoods Club in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday. This marks the 24th consecutive year Garcia has qualified for the U.S. Open.
While LIV Golf players such as Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson qualified for the U.S. Open, Garcia had to go through a regional qualifier.먹튀검증
Garcia was granted a lifetime pass to the Masters Tournament for his 2017 win, but was ineligible for the other majors due to a drop in his world ranking since joining LIV Golf. He also failed to qualify for the PGA Championship, which concluded on Nov. 21, ending a 24-year streak of playing in all major championships.
