Daejeon City held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Baseball Dream Park on the site of Hanbat Stadium in Busa-dong, Jung-gu in the afternoon of the 22nd.

It is scheduled to open in March 2025 with a total investment of 161.7 billion won.
Baseball Dream Park will be created as a new concept baseball stadium by analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of various domestic and foreign baseball fields and reflecting them in the design.
The first basement floor is for management and support facilities, the second basement floor is for athlete facilities such as lockers, indoor practice room, coach room, and player cafeteria, and the first to fourth floors are for spectator seats and auxiliary facilities.
On the first floor, there are spectator seats, sales facilities, ticket office, camera room, club history hall, and rest area, broadcasting relay and business facilities on the second floor, and a skybox on the third floor.
In particular, the ‘double-floor bullpen’ that separates the away team from the home team draws attention, and it was the first in Asia to introduce a structure where baseball fans can see the bullpen situation of both teams at a glance.
For the first time in a domestic stadium, the length from the home to the left pole is 99m, but the right pole is shortened to 95m, and an 8m high monster wall is installed on the right fence of the outfield, while the other side is lowered to 2.4m to catch a home run hit. A more dynamic match is expected.
Leisure centers such as an infinity pool, surfing zone, caravan zone, etc. on the 4th floor and outside the baseball field, as well as citizen leisure spaces such as a performance exhibition hall, children’s playground, sports experience space, lawn yard, and outdoor stage, are expected to be a space with plenty of things to enjoy. no see.
Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo said, “With the opening of the new season in 2025, Baseball Dream Park will be presented as a national attraction that provides fun and excitement as a cultural, artistic, and leisure space for citizens, not just a professional baseball stadium.”
Meanwhile, in addition to Mayor Lee, about 1,000 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including Korea Baseball Commission President Heo Gu-yeon, Song Jin-woo, Jang Jong-hoon, Jeong Min-cheol, and Kim Tae-gyun, as well as active players and Hanwha supporters, to celebrate the start of the construction of the Baseball Dream Park.
