LiveGolf’s Brooks Koepka (USA) won the PGA Championship, boosting his chances of playing in the Ryder Cup in September, a team competition between the United States and Europe.

The official Ryder Cup website announced today that as of Sept. 23, Scott Schauffler is the top-ranked U.S. player on the points list and Brooks Koepka has moved up 20 spots to No. 2.

Max Homa, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Cameron Young are third through sixth. Schauffler, who finished second in the major that concluded two days ago, maintained his lead with 22,235 points, while Koepka, who won, jumped to second (8,936).

Phil Mickelson, 26th in Ryder Cup points, and Patrick Reed, 34th, are the only other Americans on the Saudi-sponsored U.S. Professional Golf Association (PGA) tour. Koepka, however, finished second in the last Masters, and a win would stabilize his qualifying points.

Team USA Points

According to the official website, six U.S. players will automatically qualify based on their points leading up to the second FedExCup playoff event, the BMW on August 20. The remaining six will be selected by captain Zach Johnson after the Tour Championship a week later. For now, he will be the only LiveGolf player on the 12-man U.S. team competing in the Ryder Cup.

The Ryder Cup, which pits the United States against Europe, will take place Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy. It’s a fiercely competitive and popular event, and Livgolf players are eager to compete. Founded in 1927, the Ryder Cup is played every other year and has always been dominated by European teams.

Koepka, a three-time Ryder Cup player, said before the PGA Championship that he would be “happy to play in the Ryder Cup for Team USA”. “I’m not playing for the world ranking, but I’m very happy right now,” he said after his victory.

After Koepka’s win, Johnson, the U.S. team captain, spoke highly of Koepka but was coy when it came to a Ryder Cup appearance, saying it was “too early to have that discussion.” “We’re not going to start any live golfers,” said Johnson, who has six picks in addition to the automatic entrants.먹튀검증

European team points

The European team will be made up of three players from the European Points, three players from the World Points and six players selected by the captain. The roster will be finalized in the first week of September, three weeks before the event. None of the European players are from Liv.

John Rahm (Spain) leads the way, followed by Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) and Victor Perez (France). Victor Hovlan (NOR), who finished tied for second at the PGA Championship, climbed 27 spots to 15th.

Former Ryder Cup stars such as Sergio Garcia (Spain) and Ian Poulter (England) disappeared from the list as members returned. Richard Bland (England) is 96th and Henrik Stenson (Sweden), who was stripped of his captaincy, is last at 97th.
